Investment Objective
The Fund aims to provide capital growth above the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) after fees have been deducted over three years by investing predominantly in equity and equity related securities worldwide (tilted to Asia, Europe, Global and EM).
It follows a multi-manager market neutral approach to provide a single access point to the best of Schroders alpha, whilst having a positive impact in the society (SFDR article 8).
By combining a diversified set of underlying strategies in a risk managed, market neutral way, it seeks to provide robust returns with low correlation to markets, modest volatility whilst limiting drawdowns. Dynamic strategy selection and active risk management seeks also to add incremental value.

The Schroder GAIA Helix fund follows multi-manager market neutral approach to provide a single access point to the best of Schroders alpha. The fund combines conventional long-short equity and long-only equity hedged strategies with opportunistic allocations to non-equity strategies, globally (DM and EM). The strategy is global in nature, with a natural tilt away from the US, and with significant exposure to Asia, EM and Europe. Regional allocations are driven by the persistency of alpha in underlying strategies rather than a country view. Strategies are selected using a five stage investment process that combines quantitative and qualitative input. The universe of 150 strategies is rationalised using a scoring system and strategy selections contextualised using the remaining four tools. The overall strategy mix is managed by a core central investment team who, along with strategy selection and sizing are responsible for monitoring the overall risk and mitigating undesirable aggregate portfolio risks through the overlay. Strategy allocations are dynamic and the portfolio typically consists of 15-25 strategies.
